Can we have a book about Courtney? I enjoyed the heck out of her in NW and again in SWTWOM. She's had time to grow up and terrorize the world of journalism by now, it'd be fun to see her meet a man who is her match.

LOL...*standing ovation* Brillant idea! I definitely second Unfortunately, I think I remember reading somewhere that Courtney was also a no-go for JM. But, one can always hope--I certainly am!

WOOOOT! I completely agree. I thought I read something a bit back where JM was thinking about incorporating COurtney into the "time travel" thing somehow ...

I'd love to do Courtney someday. She'd be marvellous in a 16th century time-travel...but...if she chooses to stay back in time with my hero, she has to die in the 21st century. I have some problems with that; specifically the tragedy her death would be to Noah and Douglas, Sloan, Leigh, Michael Valente--even Joe O'Hara.

Salina, if he came forward, his family would have to be a bunch of jerks so we don't feel sorry for them. Or there could be a way to go back and forth. Or there could be a way to communicate. I dunno, I'm not an author! I can't wait to see what she comes up with.
I'll confess I'm not generally a big fan of time travel books. I like the idea but they're so hard to pull off as believable, and if it isn't believable I can't really get into it. The only one I really liked so far was A Knight in Shining Armor. I didn't even finish that one the first time I read it but after reading over and over that it was everyone's favorite JD book, I gave it another chance and loved it.

Tracey, the only time travel book I've read was The More I See You by, Lynn Kurland. It involved being able to go back and forth, and while some of that was funny, I don't know ... it was just okay. But I can't wait to see what Judith does. It will be magnificent!
(Dear Judith, hope that's not too much pressure on you partner' )

ROFL!!! I will trust Judith on this one. Her heroines are always classy. Jessica, have you read Jennifer Crusie's Bet Me?? Great shoes feature prominently in it.

Oh! Really? Is that her new one? If so, Jody was trying to get me to buy that one while we were in Reno at the signing. Had I only known great shoes were involved, I would have needed no convincing. *grin*
Did you like it, too? That makes about four DNs who've recommended it now. Obviously I'm going to have to get that book.

For the shoes alone..not to mention a great Krispy Kream moment. LOL
Now I would love to see Courtney as the heroine of her own story. Even if she still had the combat boots. *way far back in the dark recesses of her closet of course*

I firmly think Courtney should stay in this time zome. She could probably do with a burnt out male human who has lost the reason to live and then this cookoo of a weird girl fights his corner. She is so versatile and I agree she should stay with the others. Courtney would not fare well in the past but could triumph in the present and future.
Sorry but I always felt she was meant for our time She is time eternal and deserves her own book, definately, but in her own lifetime (jmho)

Just adding - I dont think she would fare well in the past cos she has a sense of righteousness (sp) and it would go against the grain to conform Posts: 2522 | From: England | Registered: Jan 2003

Jessica, I have no idea if it's her new one or not because I just discovered her in the last few months. I think I only have one to go and I'll have read them all. Bet Me is my absolute favorite of her books!! Neat characters, funny dialog, and of course the Krispy Kremes!!
I wanted to put in a very high recommendation for Bet Me too! It's my absolute favorite of Jennifer Crusie's books. As Tracey said, the dialogue is very funny--I couldn't stop laughing out loud--and the characters are great. It's a feel-good, hilarious book. Shoes definitely play a big part in it.
*Cheering at JM's statement* I don't care how Coutrney is featured in future JM novels--time travel or contemporary, her going back or hero going forward, or both staying in the present century--just as long as I get to read more about her I simply adore her character (same as Nikki), so as long as she doesn't fade away, I'm good. Bet Me is a fantastic novel--and I'll never look at Krispy Kremes the same way ever again. For anyone interested, I'd like to recommend a pair of paranormal time travels: 1. Breath of Magic; 2. Touch of Enchantment. Both are by Teresa Medeiros; they're funny, heartwarming, and just believable enough for me to get in with the plot.
