As I just said in another post, although Matt Farrell and Mitchell Wyatt are close friends, I don't want you to expect them to be similiar men, because they aren't. Mitchell is gorgeous and glib, but he is very complex.
Mitchell and EBYT will often force you to use your own understanding of human psychology. If you do, you may find yourself bonding much tighter with him than with any of my other heroes. If you don't, well, we'll see. You'll enjoy him anyway.
Secondly, EBYT is much shorter than PARADISE, however, because it is written to be a romance novel, you'll get a whole lot of interplay between the hero and heroine which begins and continues as soon as they meet.
Actually, EBYT is somewhat longer than it looks. The jackets were ready before the manuscript was finished, and by the time I was finished with the manuscript, it was considerably longer than I'd told Ballantine to expect. For that reason, you'll notice that new chapters don't begin on a fresh page, and we had to adjust the print size down from the very large size it started out to be, to a regular (but very readable) size.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome Judith ( refer to newbies post)
so.... what about Courtney Maitland ? the Duke of Hammund? Paris Parker ? Dorothy Seaton? ... do you think you will be writing their stories next? I would love to read a book about witty Courtney. I just can't imagine who will be the man that will be able to seduce her and take her breath away......
Best Regards

If we didn't love everything you do, we probably wouldn't be here. I am intrigued by the hints you've given us and can't wait to meet Mitchell! I read the sampler and have been anxiously awaiting the rest.
Thanks for that insight into Mitchell, I love complex characters. I'm jumping out of my seat in anticipation for EBYT. Your characters and their stories are in a class of their own. Thank you.

I'd love to write a book about Courtney. Actually, I want to do it. However, for Courtney to become a heroine you'd like and relate to, I would have to smooth her down substantially. As cute as she is as a teenager, you would find her to be a pain in the *ss as your heroine.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking...
Dee, Paris got Paul Richardson in NW. Parker got Lisa Pontini in PARADISE. So their stories have already been told--well, "sketched in" anyway. Posts: 1026 | From: Houston, Texas | Registered: May 2000

Judith, of course we want this story and this hero to be different from the others. Of course, of course !! That's part of the excitment and suspense, we're all sharing at the moment.
No comparison possible between Matt and Mitchell, that's fine. That way maybe, I'll have not only one but two fav heroes. Pure heaven...

Courtney is a wild one, but that's part of what makes her fun! Maybe she needs a Man to calm her down?.. I believe in you Ms.Judith.. you took Meredith from a nerdy loner to a beautiful, wonderful, lively, successful woman..You took Whitney from a complete wretch to many peoples favorite heroine(including my mother..who liked Whitney so much she named my sister after her). You even took little Julie Smith from a carjacking street urchin to a warm and loving teacher... I think you can do anything.. that includes smoothing out a "rumpled" teenager=)

I completely agree with Whits_ sis , Judith you can do anything with a character. I have loved all of your books! I cannot wait to meet Mitchell, I can hardly wait. I am so glad I found this group of ladies that are as excited as I am. I always remember before when I knew a book was coming out and did not have access to this board...imagine that, all those years I was excited and nobody to share it with!! Hurry up December 27th!! I feel like I am trying to rush Christmas on by....I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE!!

I don't read excerpts so I haven't read the sampler. When an author ascends to an auto-buy, I like to go in fresh not knowing anything. There are no expectations, I can go in and take it for what it is and everything is a surprise.
I may read the sampler the day I buy the book, but I don't even read the blurbs. I'm looking forward to this book. I tend to lean towards contemporaries in this phase. I agree that the warning/caution just increases my curiosity and anticipation.

I'm starting to be more like you, April. I love spoilers, but I save them for when I'm reading the book instead of before I even get the book now. And I'm learning to not box in authors but to let each book have its own experience.
For this reason I'm really looking forward to EBYT. I'm happy for a nice solid romance story, even though I still enjoy a well written romantic suspense. I've loved all the romances Judith has written so I'm excited
