Judith,
When do you think that the Mass paperback Edition will be coming out. I cannot afford to purchase STWOM in hardback, so I am looking forward to seeing it in paperback. When do you think that will be. Please tell me soon. Knowing that I will have to read STWOM laer than everyone else is killing me. *sigh*

Nicole, I have no idea when Atria will decide to release the paperback edition--it's a judgment call they make, not a standard time frame. I just looked at my copies of NIGHT WHISPERS and saw that the hardcover was released in 12/98; the paperback in 7/99.

The hardcover of STWOM will be priced at $25, but price clubs like Sams, etc, frequently sell new bestsellers at virtually no markup over their cost. Because STWOM is about 30% longer than NW--and because paper costs the publishers a great deal of money, I suspect the paperback will be more expensive than NW was.

I'll bet someone on the board would loan you their copy after they've read it.

Hi Nicole

Another suggestion for you is to try your local public library. Ours does on-line reservations and is actually taking them already.

Good luck

Nicole, I know how you feel, I don't buy hardcovers from the bookstore either. Judith is right, you can probably find it at a warehouse club store for $15-$20. Or, if that is still too much, go to your local library and request it. Most libraries will get the book from another library if they don't have it themselves for a small fee.(25-50 cents)

My other advise is to join a mail order book club such as Doubleday or Rhapsody. The start up cost is usually very small($1-$5 + shipping)then the books are usually $10-$15 each. I have my copy of STWOM on reserve at Rhapsody. Good luck

Laurie

You can also try ebay they usually go for pretty good prices. I noticed that Killjoy by Julie Garwood was selling for in some instances $5.00 and they were either copies just read once or brand new ones.

Hello Girls,
Thanks for your advise but there is a problem.I do not live in the States. I live in the Caribbean and where I live, I know of no club which is dedicated to books or selling them at an affordable price. I cannot even try ebay or online reserves because to change to $US is too expensive. Our library is pathetic. I will probably not see the book 10 years from now.*sigh*I have the worst luck.
Anyway, thanks for your advise. I appreciate it.
Oh,well,bye for now!!
