I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I am...

I shouldn't do this. I really shouldn't.

But it's such an incredibly lovely way to read the love scene in STWOM, that I really have to share it with you. So here goes...

I wrote that entire scene while a particular song was playing over and over again, and without realizing it, I picked up a kind of "cadence" and used it in the scene. In another post here tonight, I mentioned that I think the love scene in STWOM is special; it's beautiful and distinctive. You'll see what I mean when you read it.

Now, if you also happen to have the same song playing when you read it, that I had playing when I wrote it, the scene becomes even more moving.

So here's the song: It's called "Dream, Dream, Dream" and it's sung by Johnnie Mathis.

Thank you for sharing this, it will make reading the scene better. My mom is a big fan of Johnnie Mathis and that song sounds familiar. I will buy the cd before the book so I can get the "full" effect.

You can share any other special thoughts with us anytime.

I'm so glad you want to give it a try. I'll be eager to hear if it had the same kind of profound effect on you that the music does on me when I read the scene.

I'll give you the page number when I know what book page the scene occurs on.

I love when music makes me think of a book!!

I love hearing "Hold me in your arms" by Whitney Houston. It brings Perfect back to me everytime.....

*blanking on whether the song was mentioned....I just know it was playing while I read the book!*

That song sounds familiar...I'll have to download it and give it a listen!

I write best when I write to music...it just opens up my mind and gets my thoughts flowing. I'm glad to see that it does the same for you!

We spoke about this a while back. About how certain songs remind us of certain books.

So I definitely plan on listening to this song while I'm reading not only the love scene but the entire book. It sounds like it will be a very poignant love scene. I can't wait to read this book!

I luuuuuuuv Johnny Mathis. My favorite is Chances Are. I'm a huge fan of the crooners...just such romantic sounds.

Hi! I am a new comer to this BB. I am so.... excited to be part of this. I am addicted to your books. I started your book Kingdom of Dreams.. then the regency era..now.. up to contemporary ones. Last week, I finished Night Whispers and am in the middle of Perfect. I like the way you include Matt Farrell and Meredith in Perfect. Not too much but just enough to keep them in mind. I love they way you included some characters into the next book. E.g. Whitney My Love, Until You, Remember When, Almost Heaven up to Paradise, Perfect and will be STWOM. I have read novels since twelve "Barbara Cartland's time", but you are the GREATEST EVER! Keep it up and can't wait for STWOM come out.

Oh I love a heads up on the music.I usually read listening to Country music. And often times find a song that I can relate to a certain moment or couple in a book. But this is great. It helps add another dynamic.I know this song and if I can't find it on CD I can sing it in my head anyway.lol *no comments from the peanut gallery..about my singing or my head.*
I am so excited .What day are we on the countdown?
